It's #NewMusicFriday and this week we've got a brand new track from Taylor Swift (yes, it includes plenty of hidden messages), a cool video from Rita Ora and not one, but two mixtapes courtesy of Grime duo Krept and Konan.
So whether you're after a new party anthem, a killer pop track to blast in the car (thank you, Charlie Puth) or a whole selection of new R&B slow jams to chill, there's enough for you to take your pick.
So grab your headphones and check out this week's pick...
Charlie Puth - How LongCharlie Puth just dropped the video for âHow Longâ, the second single from his upcoming sophomore album VoiceNotes and weâre obsessed. For those of you who havenât heard the track yet, itâs an absolute banger - weâre talking real, dance around your living room, pop funk vibes. In the video, Puth is seen âcreepin roundâ an empty office building while sporting a suave suit. 'How Long' which is about being called out by your partner for cheating, is the follow-up Puth's chart-topping summer hit 'Attention'.
Taylor Swift - GorgeousTayTay has kept us all on our toes since announcing the release of her new album Reputation next month. She teased us with the fiery debut single âLook What You Made Me Doâ, then we got a more romantic vibe with âReady For Itâ (which she filmed the video for in a north London Kebab show earlier this week), and last night she dropped the catchy third single, âGorgeousâ along with a lyric video. However, unlike the previous singles, fans are struggling to put their finger on who the song is about. Some think that the track is clearly about Taylor's new boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, while many disagree, saying it's actually about her ex, Tom Hiddleston. Perhaps it's about both?
Krept & Konan ft Stormzy - Ask FlipzThe nationâs favourite grime duo Krept & Konan have finally dropped their highly-anticipated double mixtape project 7 Days, 7 Nights and it is GENIUS. The first is one for the hard-hitting grime lovers and includes collaborations with J Hus and Skepta, while the latter is a collection of smooth, R&B flavoured slow jams and includes collaborations with the likes of Jhene Aiko and Tory Lanez. Sounds like the best of both worldâs right? It is. Before releasing both EPs at midnight, the pair surprised fans with the music video for âAsk Flipzâ, a track from 7 Days featuring Stormzy - check it out above.
Liam Payne - Bedroom FloorLiam Payne has released the third single from his upcoming debut solo album and fans are loving it. The song has shot to number two on Spotifyâs New Music Friday chart and is rumoured to be all about a time when his girlfriend/baby mama Cheryl tried to end their relationship over the phone. In a previous interview, the 24-year-old One Direction star admitted that heâd written a song about coupleâs almost break-up, saying: "Thereâs one song that is basically a phone call that happened between me and her when she was about to let it go... This is a long time ago. And itâs basically me trying to cling on and say: 'No, no, no itâs all going to work out, donât worry about it, give it time.'" We wonder if sheâll be in the video?
Rita Ora - AnywhereRita Ora's latest single 'Anywhere' was released today along with a pretty cool video and fans are loving it. The song, which was co-written by Rita will feature on her upcoming second album and brings a very upbeat, techno vibe. In the video, Rita is seen dancing around Times Square, Meatpacking District, on top of a hotel overlooking the Hudson River and China Town. Oh, and you HAVE to see all of those outfit changes.
