Interfaith celebration | KBOI

NAMPA, Idaho (CBS2) —

The Ford Idaho Center is hosting an interfaith event on Saturday the 10th.

People will be gathering to hear from some of the actors who work for the show 'The Chosen'.

Nick Shakoour, who plays the character Zebedee, explained the show, saying, "The Chosen is the story of the ministry of Jesus told from the point of view of his disciples and the people that encountered him on his path."

Two leaders from different churches explained their reasoning behind putting this event together. Jason Nielsen, a stake president of the LDS church said, "As a leader in a church, one of my goals, maybe one of my duties responsibilities is to help bring people to Christ and help people to know Christ and to have an experience with him."

Amber Shana Williams, the actress who plays Tamar, said "Don't come with any expectations or any plans of how you think it should go or what you expect. Come with an open heart and open mind come open and ready to receive."

There are still tickets available, and they're free. You can get tickets here. The event is only asking for non-perishable food donations that they will be distributing to local food pantries.
