BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Boise Police confirmed a school bus hit an adult male pedestrian on a skateboard in a crosswalk at 7:05 a.m. Thursday morning.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Franklin Rd. and Curtis. The bus was full, transporting junior high school children to school. Initial information from the Boise Police indicates they do not believe there is any evidence of alcohol playing a factor. The bus driver failed to yield to the pedestrian while turning south of Curtis.
The latest information indicates that the pedestrian has been transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The bus driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian, and the school children were transferred to another bus and taken to school from there.
CBS2 contacted Durham School Bus services for comment on this incident and others over the past few weeks involving their drivers.
This follows a week after an intoxicated and armed adult male was allowed onto a school bus and driven to North Junior High. Police chased the suspect down and arrested him, but not before he rode to the school with a bus full of students.
CBS2 will update this story if a response is received.
